I'm between writing projects right now and I need a good book to curl up with? Not that my nook's not full of unread books, but I'm always on the lookout for something new. So please help me out and give me book recommendations. What are you reading now? Whose your favorite author and why?
If you haven't read any Terry Pratchett, there's a whole world of hilarious novels waiting just for you! "A Madness of Angels" by Kate Griffin is the first in a trilogy about an urban wizard in modern London. Very evocative. Have you read any Jen Lancaster? Anything by her will take you right to the verge of incontinence, you will laugh THAT hard. And now my brain is done.
ReplyDeleteMiss you!

I'm reading My Own Worst Frenemy by Kimberly Reid--set in Denver, YA, boarding school. It's a fun read--lighter than I usually do but she's got a good voice.
ReplyDeleteIf you like dark, rich fantasy, my friend Kirsten Imani Kasai published Ice Song last year and now the sequel Tattoo is out. Just gorgeous writing set in an alternate world where environmental disaster has caused mutation. About a Trader, a woman who switches genders in times of stress, whose twin babies are stolen from her. It's quite a ride.
Hrm, I am still working through conference books (lovely!), but I also started reading "Skinwalker" and the "Stormwalker" series. I had no idea there were these NA UF's out there, so I'm trying them out. I like them both, so far.
